CEMS Symposium on Emergent Quantum Materials

Overview

The CEMS Symposium on “Emergent Quantum Materials” will be held on May 22-24, 2019 at the Ito International Research Center, The University of Tokyo.
This is the 18th symposium in the series which has been held in chronological order by JRCAT, AIST-CERC, ERATO, FIRST and RIKEN since 1996.

This international symposium will bring together leading and active researchers in the field of emergent phenomena in correlated quantum materials, and provide a forum for sharing new ideas and information on latest developments and for discussing future research directions.

The focus of this symposium will be the following subjects:

• Topological magnets, topological insulators, topological superconductors, Weyl materials
• Interfaces, layered systems, superstructures
• Gigantic responses from strongly correlated materials
• Spintronics
• Non-equilibrium physics
• Photovoltaics
• Exotic particles (skyrmion, majorana, etc.)

This symposium is the joint activity of
