超清浄酸化物が創り出す新しい電子相関物性
講演概要
Oxides used to be dirty materials called as ceramics but have been quite useful for applications such as chip capacitors in a polycrystalline form. Cleanest semiconductors such as Si and GaAs in a single crystalline form of bulk crystals, thin films, and heterostructures have been the core materials in modern electronics. Now, some oxides are made to be VERY clean in thin films and heterostructures to realize novel physical properties with correlation effects. In this colloquium, we will overview our recent activities for oxide semiconductors such as ZnO and EuTiO3. Electrons in these compounds exhibit unprecedented physical properties coming from unique quantum characters.
