Free surface of liquid helium is a unique liquid surface, which can exist at absolute zero. Outside the surface, an electron forms a surface state, while inside the liquid, an electron bubble, or a self-trapped electron in a bubble, can be accumulated under the free surface. Most other ions, dressed by helium atoms due to electrostriction, can be trapped under the surface as well. These surface charges produce or probe a variety of exotic surface phenomena specific to liquid helium. This talk will describe some recent examples, like chirality in superfluid 3He-A, dissipative structure in electrons on liquid helium under resonant microwave excitation, and so on.
